The Two Mules

Bu yazımızda, “İki Katır” olarak bildiğimiz “The Two Mules” hikayesinin basit (A1-A2 seviyesinde) bir sürümünü derledik.

Two mules were travelling side by side. One mule carried a sack of oats, and the other had a bag filled with gold coins.

The mule with the gold coins walked with pride, and each step made his coins jingle. He felt rich and important, often looking at the other mule with a superior gaze.

One day, while they were walking through a quiet path, a group of thieves hiding nearby heard the jingling sound of the coins. Attracted by the noise, they decided to attack.

As the mules continued their journey, the thieves jumped out and surrounded them. The one with the coins was their obvious target. They tried to wrestle the coins from him, but the proud mule resisted. In response, the thieves gave him a good beating.

The other mule, carrying the sack of oats, watched from a distance. The thieves ignored him, seeing no value in his load.

Once the thieves had left with the coins, the oat mule whispered to his injured friend, “It’s not always good to show off. Attracting less attention can keep us safe.
