The Milkmaid and Her Pail

Bu yazımızda, “Sütçü Kız ve Süt Kabı” olarak bildiğimiz “The Milkmaid and Her Pail” hikayesinin basit bir sürümünü derledik.

Patty was a young girl who lived in a small village. Every day, she went to the -farm to get milk from her cow, Bella.

One sunny day, Patty filled her pail with fresh milk. As she walked back to her home, she began to dream. She thought, “I will sell this milk in the market and earn some money.”

She continued to dream, “With that money, I will buy some chickens. The chickens will lay eggs, and I can sell the eggs for more money.”

Patty got more excited. “Then, I will buy a pretty dress with the money from the eggs. Everyone in the village will look at me and say how beautiful I look!”

While dreaming, Patty forgot to watch her steps. She tripped over a stone and the milk spilled out of the pail. All her dreams were gone with the spilled milk.

Patty was very sad. She realized that it is not good to dream too much without focusing on the present. From that day, she always paid attention to her work and never let her dreams distract her from reality.
